Privacy policy
Effective September 8, 2026
PanoStory turns panorama photos into animated videos on your iPhone or iPad. This policy explains how A&A Design Inc., operating PanoStory under the Ludicrous Designs brand ("we", "us"), handles information through the app and its support website.
Your panorama editing and video rendering happen on your device. Advertising, diagnostics, purchases, location-name lookup and sharing involve the services described below. You do not need to create a PanoStory account.
Photos, videos and photo locations
With your permission, PanoStory reads the photos available to it in your photo library, including panorama images, creation dates and any location metadata already attached to those photos. It uses that information to display and organize your gallery and create your video. The app does not request your live device location.
To display a place name, the app sends a photo's recorded coordinates to Apple's geocoding service. Those coordinates can describe a precise location. Removing location information from a photo before using it prevents that lookup for that photo. Apple's handling of service data is described in its privacy policy.
PanoStory does not upload your source photos or rendered videos to our own servers or send their contents to Google Analytics or AdMob. It creates working files in app storage and can save exports to Photos. Your device settings, including iCloud Photos and device backups, may separately synchronize these files through Apple.
When you choose a destination in the share sheet, iOS passes the selected video to that app or service. Its privacy practices then apply. We do not control copies you send to other people or services.
Advertising
The free experience uses Google AdMob. Its SDK may process IP addresses (including an estimate of general location), app or device identifiers, device and app information, ad interactions and diagnostic/performance data to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud and improve reliability. This app does not request App Tracking Transparency permission to access the advertising identifier (IDFA).
Google's User Messaging Platform manages available advertising-consent choices. The app requests ads only when Google's consent system permits it. Where Google requires a privacy-options entry point, you can revisit it under Settings → Ad privacy. Non-personalized or limited ads can still involve data processing for delivery, measurement and fraud prevention. See Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
An active qualifying annual subscription, lifetime unlock or restored legacy No Ads purchase suppresses in-app banners. Buying premium does not automatically disable the separate analytics and crash-diagnostic services or erase data previously collected.
Usage analytics and crash reports
We use Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics to understand app use and fix problems. Analytics includes events such as onboarding, editing/rendering duration, export completion and the category of sharing destination selected, together with device model and iOS version. The Firebase SDKs may also collect installation identifiers, app/device information, session and interaction data, IP-derived general location, crash stack traces and diagnostic information.
These reports help us understand which features work and investigate failures. We do not intentionally include photo contents, photo coordinates, message contents or payment-card details in those events. Read Firebase's privacy and security information for service-specific processing and retention.
Purchases
Apple processes payments, subscriptions and refunds. PanoStory reads Apple-verified product and transaction information, including current purchase status, expiry and revocation, to enable ad-free use and watermark-free export and to restore purchases. We do not receive your payment-card number. Manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account's Subscriptions settings; deleting the app does not cancel it.
Support and this website
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send, and use them to respond and resolve your request. Please avoid sending unnecessary personal information or private photos.
This policy page is hosted by HostGator. Visiting it sends normal web-request information, such as your IP address, requested page, browser information and request time, to the hosting infrastructure; server logs may retain that information for operation and security. This page contains no advertising or analytics scripts. External links lead to services with their own policies.
Sharing, purposes and international processing
Information is processed by Apple, Google, our hosting and email providers as described above. We may disclose relevant information when necessary to comply with law, protect rights or prevent abuse. We do not sell your photos or support messages. Advertising-related processing may be considered "sharing" or a "sale" under some privacy laws; the available advertising choices and applicable legal rights apply to that processing.
Where a legal basis is required, we rely on providing the service you request for editing and purchases, legitimate interests for support, security and service improvement where permitted, consent where required for advertising or device access, and legal obligations where applicable. Providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States, under their applicable contractual and legal safeguards.
Retention and security
Local app files and preferences remain until removed by the app or by deleting the app; saved Photos items remain until you delete them from Photos and any synced or backup copies. Uninstalling does not delete shared videos or records held by Apple or other providers. We retain support correspondence for as long as reasonably needed to handle requests and meet legal or dispute-resolution needs. Analytics, advertising and diagnostic data follow the providers' service settings and retention practices; purchase records follow Apple's practices and applicable requirements.
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information and rely on platform and provider protections. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and rights
- Change PanoStory's photo permissions in iOS Settings. Restrict access to selected photos where supported, or revoke access.
- Delete photos and exports through Photos, and manage iCloud and backups through your Apple settings.
- Use available Ad privacy controls in the app and your Google privacy settings for Google-held data.
- Contact us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or a portable copy of personal information we hold, or to withdraw consent where it is the basis for processing. Rights and exceptions depend on your location. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.
We may need proportionate information to verify a request. Because PanoStory has no user account, we may not be able to associate a particular SDK installation record with your email address. We will explain what we can identify and how to contact the relevant provider. We do not require a purchase to exercise applicable privacy rights.
Children
PanoStory is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly seek personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the app or its services change. The effective date above identifies the current version. We will provide additional notice or seek consent when required for a material change.
